Omega employees now have access to a holiday house in Arguineguin, Gran Canaria. Omega previously had an apartment available on Gran Canaria, however it was replaced with the house at Arguineguin (August 2005), as it is better suits Omega employee's needs.

Arguineguin is one of the most populated towns along the south coast of Gran Canaria, approximately five minutes drive from Puerto Rico and 15 minutes from Playa del Ingles.

Norwegian, Bjørn Lyng, made Arguineguin known to Norwegians when he built up the Amfi del Mar: a pleasant timeshare complex located by the beach. The complex's famous white beach, featuring sand transported from the Bahamas, is open to everyone. Other beautiful beaches in the area include Patalavaca, Puerto Rico and Amadores.

Climate

It is said that Arguineguin has the world's best climate and most sunny days. The temperature is a stable 20 to 30 degrees Celsius, making it a year-round holiday destination.

Food

Arguineguin hosts some excellent bars and restaurants, many specialising in fresh seafood. Eating out is a little cheaper than in Norway and the food is mainly international and of a high standard. Supermarkets have a wide selection of reasonably-priced food for those who wish to eat in.

Location

Omega's holiday house is approximately 20 minutes walk from Arguineguin's centre, beaches and restaurants.

The house is situated in a row of identical Villa del Sol buildings.

Car

A Nissan Almeira (Diesel 2004 model) is parked beside the house. Guests are free to use the vehicle, but are asked to fill the tank before departure. The car is comprehensively insured with an excess of 3000 NOK.

Cleaning

Weekly washing and cleaning of the house and swimming pool is included.

Information File

Guests will find an information file in the living room. The file provides tips on excursions and sightseeing. Please add your own comments in the guest book (at the back of the file).

Service Office

Before you travel, you will need to contact our service office, 'Effic', to organise collection from the airport and/or collection of the key to the house. 'Effic' can also assist if you require a janitor or any assistance in the house.

Getting there

Flights

It is necessary to organise your own flights to and from Gran Canaria. Prices can vary, but are usually approximately 3500NOK from Norway.

From the Airport

Taxi: A taxi from the airport to the house will cost approx 40 Euro.

Car: Drive onto the motorway, heading south towards Playa del Ingles. Take road 56 from the motorway towards Arguineguin. At the second roundabout (the one with the fish-tail sculpture), turn right. At the next small roundabout (beside Ancora Center), turn right again. Follow the road for approximately one kilometre until you see the Villa del Sol houses by the roadside (pink buildings with partly stone fronts). Omega's house is number eight.

Booking

Omega accommodation is part of the Omega Advantage+ Programme. Employees can use their Advantage Points to pay for their bookings.

How to book

On the 'Intranet Omega AS' drop-down menu (on the left-hand side of the page) click on 'Accommodation'.
On the calendar next to the property you wish to book, click on the date you would like to check-in. A pop-up will appear requesting the date you would like to check-out.
Choose the day you would like to check-out. The number of Advantage+ Points required for your stay will appear.
Enter any comments regarding your booking.
Click on 'Save Booking' to book. Your booking will now appear on the booking calendar in green.
